Two of my brothers live & work in New York.
They re-wire buildings (schools, hospitals, hotels, etc.).
My brother Caleb called today, very excited. They were remodeling an empty high school in Brooklyn yesterday & were approached by 2 men who asked them if they wanted to go upstairs and shoot a game of basketball. My brother Nick told them they'd join them at lunch time.
Nick told Caleb "Those guys look awfully familiar." Caleb was thinking they looked familiar also.
They get up there and start shooting basketball with them, and Caleb says "I know I've seen you around before - you guys look awfully familiar."
And the guys smiled and said "Probably because we're two members of the Beastie Boys."
The guys signed autographs, got them on videophone, gave them a ton of band material, & the guys said "Where do you think the money is coming from to remodel this school? We went to high school here."
When my brothers come in for Christmas they'll bring photos.
I think it's pretty cool that these guys are giving back to the community and are renovating this school. My brothers were floored at how down to earth they were.
